Review of A Midnight Tale

I like this game a lot, and the big reason for that is because it was fairly original, unless a lot of RM95 games. Most games lack a very original storyline. Everything was designed nicely. Everything fits together good (experince & gold earned, prices of inventory, etc.). That is another thing that a lot of games lack and that should be fixed in those games. The challenge of A Midnight Tale is perfect. It isn't too hard or easy.

The graphics are nice also. The world map has a nice designed, but could be slightly improved. The inventory and magic spells are mostly default, with some extra added ones, so not much of a fault there.

The forest maze is pretty good, it could be a little bit larger, because once I [finally] got through the first time I could always find my way through. At the part where you ride the boat, I was hoping I could control the boat for myself instead of the game driving me around. All in all I enjoyed playing the game.

Bugs and Glitches: None. 100%

Music and SFX: The music was really good. It always fit the scene. I liked the music when you are walking in through the forest maze. There were a few SFX. 90%

Tiles: The tiles were used for the good, but they could have been a little bit better. 83%

Other GFX: When you first load the game, those graphics are nice. 90%

Cutscenes*: A couple, not many. 65%

Story & Plot: Very original story, but the plot wasn't the greatest ever. 85%

Game Design: Some things were kept at default, but there were added things also (to inventory, magics, etc.). 80%

Overall: Good game, I recommend playing it. 85%

Comments:  You did a good job, Shogun.  But put in some good plot twists for a later demo/final version, I would like that a lot better!

* - I do not refer to AVIs (they would be an extra), I refer to events on the screen moving around in a scene.
